Andrea Wise-Brown (@AWiseBrown), M.Ed., LPC., NCC.
Andrea is a licensed Psychotherapist who is a native of New Jersey where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Psychiatric Rehabilitation at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Kean University. Andrea currently resides in Texas where she earned her M.Ed. in Counseling at the University of North Texas. Andrea is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and a formerly trained Hostage Negotiator. Andrea is a member of Psi Chi, Texas Counseling Association and is a certified member of Women’s Business Enterprise National Council “WBENC”.

Andrea provides individual, couples, and family counseling using research-based therapy approaches for adolescents, adults, and families. Andrea is warm and compassionate and utilizes a non-judgmental approach to therapy. Her method of practice is contingent upon each individual and centered around that person's need. The goal of therapy is to help each person find healthy solutions to lead full and productive lives as they see it. Andrea’s commitment is to create an environment in which her clients feel comfortable and safe to explore their innermost thoughts, needs and emotions.

Andrea’s professional experiences include; Keynote speaker, Corporate workshops, College and High School Seminars, Relationship classes, Empowerment panels, Team Building, providing strategies and skill training for overcoming life’s barriers. She has provided home-based treatment for high-risk youth and families, drug abuse, truancy and domestic violence. Andrea served as an investigator for Child Protective Services. In addition, as a Mental Health Expert Andrea educated local and federal law enforcement agencies on identifying mental illness within the community.

Andrea is the author of the book, “6 Pillars To Power Up Your Mind, Mental-Health is a Lifestyle.” It’s a “go to” guide that provides specific tools for keeping the mind healthy and strong. Andrea has presented nationally on topics such as; Psychology of Prejudice & Racism, Mental Health, Relationships, Powerful Living, Resilience, Trauma, Self-esteem, Parenting, and The Impact of the Media on Body Image. She has appeared as an expert on “Unfaithful” -- Stories of Betrayal -- on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), FOX4 NEWS, SiriusXM, Tom Joyner Morning Show, Blackamericaweb.com, Get Up Erica! Good Morning Texas and other national media outlets. Andrea has been featured in “Heart & Soul” magazine. Andrea has written informative articles promoting mental health for “Healthy You Now”. Andrea is the CEO of “Smart Girls with Character,” an organization that teaches girls age’s 9-17 skills to enhance their self-esteem.
